The Wise Women Present – Morning Tea in celebration of International Women’s Day

This morning’s event was a fantastic way for the attendees to gain awareness on financial planning challenges for women, how to connect to the community and how to benefit communities of women overseas.

Jamie Luxton opened the event by explaining how it aligned to our vision and welcomed all the ladies into our morning of celebration.

Dawn Thomas covered the story of John and Mary, via flash cards and role play, based on the article by Jane Gilmour that represented a story of two people with different endings based on data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics.  https://www.qvwc.org.au/2017/05/the-cost-of-womanhood/

Yogita Patel shared the opportunities to help women overseas so gain a life of dignity through the Uplift Project (donation of second hand bras) and ‘Give up the Stuff’ Campaign through The Global Women’s Project (setting up business incubators for women in Nepal and Cambodia).
